Full description
Gorgeous little bundle of Welsh wool blanket and quilt pieces. A piece of history, each set includes fragments of antique hand stitched quilts, and snippets from woven wool blankets from vintage to retro to modern. Plus some traditional red and black Welsh ladies shawl of course!
These snippets would make lovely little cards for St Davids Day, but are perfect for all sorts of crafting, including slow stitching and textile art. Or just mount in a frame and display.
Your bundle contains pieces of 14 different rare or iconic Welsh textiles I've sourced from across Wales.
2 x antique hand-stitched antique quilt - photos show both sides
- brown with fragmented top layer revealing inner wadding, less damaged reverse side
- pink and green stripe top, cream reverse
2 x traditional pattern wool blanket
- bright check (varies)
- either another check or yellow chevron shown
5 x plain wool blanket
- cream, thin loose weave
- green, very thick felted with age
- pink, thick and a bit felted
- cream, blanket stitch edge in some bundles
- tan, crinkly
1 x red and black shawl
4 x modern blanket pieces in blue, grey and green/orange
Sizes of each fragment style vary from bundle to bundle, but the biggest is approx 4x3 inches, and the smallest approx 1x1 inch.
The bundle also includes a cream calico that you could use as a foundation for stitching
and a hank of vintage tapestry wool, plus some extras not pictured.
