I’m influenced by the shapes of ancient vessels found in archaeological sites, particularly from Minoan and other ancient Greek excavations. In my making, I like to give the forms a modern twist and decorate with contemporary designs influenced by the textiles of the 20th century and modern abstract art.

Full description
I handmade this ceramic vase in black stoneware, in a soft rectangular shape with pretty handle details. It's perfect to show off informal flower arrangements or just to sit by itself on a tabletop as a piece of art.The outside is the matt black of natural clay, with bands of soft pink and grey decoration fired into the surface. I glazed the inside with a toning iron lustre glaze to hold water.17.5cm x 5 x 9cm approx. On the base is my potter's mark of a swallow in flight impressed into the soft clay before firing.
