Full description

This delightful circular wood wall clock is hand crafted from a piece of an old holly tree that was felled from a neighbours garden about 12 years ago. Designed and crafted in my studio at Clairdale, Sanday, the light tan-colour wood has very soft, subtle grain features that swirl across the clock face, which is turned to a shallow bowl with a narrow, slender rim. The numerals are hand crafted from oak veneer, the four cardinal hours (3, 6. 9 and 12 o'clock) are marked with wide strips of veneer and the intermediate hours are marked with narrower strips. The hands are black painted metal, and the clock has an incredibly quiet ticking quartz movement that uses one AA battery (not supplied). There is a wall hanger built in to the top of the movement, so all you need to do is find a nice place in your home for it to live. The clock is 140mm diameter, and 35mm deep.

Designed by Brian Case in Sanday, Orkney
