I love the shape of this fossil which I initially thought was a bird! I found out that it was actually a shrimp, but I do think that it has bird-like qualities. It was an intriguing subject to draw and I enjoyed constructing all the abstract forms within the outline.

Full description
This original coloured pencil drawing is inspired by an image of a shrimp fossil. The overall shape of the shrimp is made up of interlocking geometric shapes in shades of pale blue, turquoise and rust. This stand out bold design is drawn on A3 size heavyweight cartridge paper, using quality Caran D`ache Luminance pencils. The pigments are lightfast, but as with all drawings, it should not be hung in bright sunlight.
It is supplied unframed and packaged flat on a backing board with cellophane as protection.
