Giant Red Poppies
This fine botanical watercolour celebrates the luminous beauty of giant red oriental poppies at the height of their bloom. Each flower is rendered with delicate sensitivity, capturing the translucent, papery petals as they unfurl and catch the light in rich tones of crimson, coral, and rose. Slender stems and softly articulated foliage create a sense of movement and air, giving the composition both elegance and vitality.
Painting these poppies was a genuine joy — their sculptural forms and vibrant colour offering endless inspiration. The work balances botanical accuracy with expressive warmth, making it equally suited to lovers of fine illustration and contemporary floral art.
