I love the folklore surrounding agriculture and the celebration of the seasons. The Kern Baby is a doll or figure made from corn or other grain and dressed in clothes to celebrate the Harvest Home or Harvest Festival. A little bit creepy, but a whole lot loveable!

Ceramic figurine of a harvest-time Kern (Corn) Baby or Dolly. She is completely handmade and hand-glazed by me and is one of a kind. Her wheat-ear head is finished in matt glazes for an authentic feel with a highly glazed body. She is created in earthenware clay so is an indoor sort of girl. Made in deepest Sussex.
