The gentle undulation of moorland hills and the colours inspire me to weave with these colours and the shapes of the hills work so well with picture weaving. This is one of several in my 'Heather and Hills' collection. Whilst their inspiration comes from the same landscape, each one is different and totally unique.

Full description

This woven wall hanging has been hand woven using a variety of different yarns including spun wool, roving, acrylic and eyelash yarn. I vary the yarn deliberately to give form and texture to the picture. This picture shows a view looking across a range of hills with trees mid-way to give context to the composition and sky in the background to draw the eye through the picture. Eyelash yarn is used above the bottom fringe for texture to show the grassy hill in the foreground. Measurements: Dowel width: 21 inches; length of wall hanging from dowel to bottom of fringe: 36 inches.
