My background is in Graphic Design and although I'm now retired I still enjoy the creative process. A lot of my work features birds and flowers and I particularly love combining different materials and patterns to create colourful, one-of-a-kind mixed media pieces.

Full description
This textile artwork would make a lovely gift for a nature lover. The scene features a barn owl sitting above a hedgerow with ripe blackberries. There are ploughed fields in the background and a full moon is lighting up the night sky.
I've created the picture using layers of batik and cotton fabrics. Embroidery threads, acrylic paints and inks have been used to add texture and details. The glossy blackberries have been created with embroidery threads and seed beads.
The artwork comes in a frame with a hanging hook and strut on the reverse. The outer frame measures approx. 230 x 280mm and the aperture is 120 x 170mm. The artwork is titled and signed on the reverse.
I've made a matching tag in case you're sending it as a gift.
