A hand holds a tiny pink mushroom with a backdrop of a monochromatic human brain creating a thought-provoking artwork. The piece is designed to ignite thought and dialogue around how we perceive and think about fungal forms whether they as more familiar mushroom or the more abstracted species.
The piece is intricately and realistically worked to create artwork that is both conceptual and surrealist in visual appearance through being worked from the artists own hand and photographs taken within the natural environment.

This is a companion piece to 'Brain Fungus' with the two being concurrently as I continued to explore how we think about and explore our relationships with and explore our perceptions of fungal forms. My inspiration comes from my own intimate observations of this often maligned world and a deep love of the natural environment.
