I am the creative half of WOA working out of our home studio. I was born and spent my early childhood in Plymouth, Devon and but now reside in the beautiful county of Derbyshire with my fiance who is our administrative manager.
A lifelong love of art, stitch and the natural environment has led to graduating with a BA Honours in Textiles in December 2021 and in September 2023 with a post-graduate Masters Degree in Fine Art - both through the University of Creative Arts.
I am an interdisciplinary research-led artist working within a multi-sensory practice whose focus lies within the fungal kingdom and the ecosystems on which it both relies and sustains. My work seeks to both raise awareness of a much maligned kingdom and to create dialogue around our human usage through both botanical depictions and more conceptual works of art that often draw on both historical and contemporary influences. Ultimately, each beautifully rendered, and intimately studied, piece of work seeks to provoke walking memories whilst creating dialogue around our human perceptions of a kingdom which are the ultimately companion species. Our work will consequently appeal to lovers of the natural environment whether it is thought provoking or adding touches of serene elegance.
