free motion and hand embroidered large floral purse or case – bright pink
translated from my original pencil sketch, this flower is free hand embroidered in rose and blush pink cottons on to hand dyed grey cotton calico.
the fabrics are hand snipped and layered, applied to the base fabric using raw edge applique and free hand machine embroidery.
the flower centre is embellished with hand embroidery.
this large zip case measures approximately 25cm wide x 15cm (9.5” x 6”)
the purse itself is made from heavy weight cotton calico which has been pre-washed several times so it’s soft and should not shrink when washed.
it’s stiffened with interfacing, lined with coordinating hot pink cotton, and has a zip fastening.
i'm a traditional nerd: there's no computer wizardry here - this piece was sewn entirely on a domestic sewing machine from my hand drawn original pencil sketch.
everything is cut, stitched and handmade, with care, by me, ensuring it is unique, well made and securely constructed.
