I worked my way through the whole book. Thanks to all the team whose designs were in the book.

Full description

I hand-stitched this exquisite square carpet/rug to dress a very opulent room in your dolls house, where it would be on show to impress the ‘ family’s ‘ visitors. It can be brought to the centre front of the room, to fully display the beautiful rose border, without it being hidden by furniture.

I used a design in the book Dolls’house Needlecrafts by Venus A. Dodge and I only made one of this design and several others and I’m offering you the chance to own this labour intensive example of hand stitching.

It measures 5 3/4 “ square and is worked on canvas with 22 threads per inch in Tent stitch ( half cross stitch) using 3 strands of embroidery thread. The pale pink background took 5 skeins of thread alone and the number of stitches totals. 19,600 !! Whew. Jan

Designed by Janet Williamson in my workroom at home in Liverpool
