These stoneware birds are created using a thrown form that is then altered and added to in order to create these quirky little birds. Each one is slightly different in colouring and positioning. Making them very individual and unique characters. Large birds are approximately 9 to 10 cm high at the top of the tail and about 12-13cm long. The smaller ones are approximately 7-8cm tall and 10-12cm long.

These birds cam about as an idea for making something on the wheel that could be altered. The original starting shape was something I used to use to make salt and pepper pots.
