These serving boards were the first items I made using oak. During their production I learned how to thickness wood, attach the pieces together to form the finished board, round the edges and sand until smooth. All under the watchful, if slightly critical, eye of my partner (a carpenter by trade). Although he was there to teach and advise, these boards were made by myself. I’m very proud of them!
I am a nurse by day and crafter by night. I usually knit but wanted to try working with a different medium and discovered a love for working with wood.
As someone who suffers badly with anxiety, I have found creating these sweet coasters, along with the other items in my shop, has greatly improved my mental health and has ignited a passion that I didn’t know I had!
