Full description
My quirky button dish.
Size: 12.5cm x 12.5cm
Handmade with a earthenware clay using the slab method. The detailed pattern is created by an Indian carved stamp in the centre. Each corner has been shaped using a sculpting tools and little 'hand' buttons added by applying slip.
It has been bisque fired to 1000C and then gently sanded before applying a red iron-oxide wash. The iron-oxide has been applied with a brushed and then sponged off to give the appearance of the intricate design. It has had second firing in the kiln to 1080C
Not suitable for food.
Due to the handmade nature and natural materials each piece is unique with subtle variations in size, shape, and finish.
A self-adhesive cork has been applied to the base to protect surfaces.
