Full description
A detailed 'Hamsa Hand' curved dish.
Size : 16.5cm x 12.5cm
The Hamsa Hand is a universal sign of protection, power, and strength that dates back to ancient Mesopotamia. Known as the Hand of Fatima in Islam and the Hand of Miriam in Judaism, it's believed to protect against the evil eye and all negative energies.
It is handmade with a earthenware clay using the slab method. The detailed pattern is created by an Indian carved stamp. It has been bisque fired in the kiln to 1000C and then gently sanded before applying a red iron-oxide wash. The iron-oxide has been applied with a brushed and then sponged off to enhance the appearance of the intricate design after which it is then finally fired in the kiln to 1080C
Green sea glass not included.
Due to the handmade nature and natural materials each piece if unique with subtle variations in size, shape, and finish.
