Full description
A decorative orb made from woollen fibres. A sphere of woollen fibres has been felted and then covered in a layer of white merino wool fibres and the poppy decoration added. The poppies have been added all around the sphere to provide decoration in all orientations. The sphere has then been felted for a second time to ensure all the woollen fibres adhere and are well felted.
The orb measures approximately 8cm in diameter and a repurposed wooden curtain ring used as a base to enable it to maintain stability when on display. Should you wish to use the orb as a hanging decoration a hanging loop can easily be stitched to the top.
As well as being a decorative item, this orb could also be used as a pin cushion.
The poppy has become a strong symbol of remembrance and hope for a peaceful future.
