Keep cosy this winter in a cute multicoloured wool rich beanie!
I have crocheted this hat in a great self patterning wool yarn in shades of pink, blue and orange. Unstretched the bottom is approx 20" but it will easily stretch out a few more inches. From top to bottom it is 9 inches so you can wear it with the bottom turned up for a closer skull cap type fit or with it left down for a slouchier fit.
I've just used a close textured crochet stitch for the bulk of the hat to give a dense fabric, better for keep us warm on those cold days but then added a few rows of a criss cross stitching to the mid section for a bit of extra detailing.
The yarn content is 75% wool 25% nylon and as such this hat should be hand washed, reshaped whilst damp and laid flat to dry. Wool is a favourite of mine as it is a great insulator but is also breathable so if you're outside walking, playing with the kids or even taking the dog out it will keep you snug and warm without you overheating. It is also long lasting and hardwearing meaning you don't need to be buying a new hat everytme it goes cold!
