Inspired by the deep, intense blue of our moonlit summer skies. The very short summer nights this far north never get dark - people often play a round of golf at 2 AM - and the post-sunset blue remains throughout the night until sunrise. The idea for my light pull pendants came while I was refurbishing Clairdale, our old croft cottage here on Sanday, one of the Orkney isles, and they all reflect the nature of our home, it's surroundings and the gentle pace of life up here.

Full description
This unique blue light pull can be used in your kitchen or bathroom. Hand crafted in Orkney, it is fitted with 600mm of bright blue cord, complimenting the deep blue colour of the pendant. It can be used in any room which has a suitable switch. The intense blue colour of the pendant, inspired by our midnight summer sky, is created by the mica powder I have mixed in the resin before moulding it to form a rectangular block. I then turn this block to shape on my lathe. I have shaped this pendant to have a gentle rounded end at the bottom and a flatter end at the top, with a subtle taper which gets slightly wider towards the lower end, improving grip for wet hands. The semi-transparent resin allows light to shine through into the pendant, enhancing its colour and allowing the blue mica to form a marbled effect. The pendant is 82mm long and 20mm wide, and postage is included in the price.
