Spring is in the air, time to get out in the garden and also time to give your indoor plants some attention! Old flatware makes great plant labels whether indoors or out…

A hand stamped vintage nickel silver alloy tea spoon with wording (in shouty little block capitals) inspired by Rene Magritte's masterpiece 'The Treachery of Images'. Is it or isn't it a spoon? Is it still a spoon if it says it isn't one? Is the inscription true, or not? Is it Art? Either way you can stir your tea with it so ultimately these questions are of purely intellectual interest. It's a plain teaspoon measuring approximately 12.5cm long and I would guess it's 1940s.
This would make a fun little gift for a tea-loving artiste or an art-loving tea drinker, or why not just treat yourself to a little bit of daftness to brighten your own day. Especially if you live or work with people who just wouldn't get the joke...
This listing is for ONE spoon. You will receive the spoon shown in the photographs. The lettering is coloured with a non-toxic, water-based acrylic ink. Wash carefully by hand.
Please note this is a vintage spoon and it has a few blemishe and its original packing thread still wound round the handle, so please do look carefully at the photos if the condition of the spoon matters more than the message. This spoon has been around a bit and has character. It's a survivor. If you were looking for a mirror-finished brand new spoon, this isn't one. Just so you know.
I can do other wording to order so if there's another arty quote you'd like to see on a spoon, do please get in touch!
