Full description

A hand stamped vintage dessert spoon with wording inspired by Rene Magritte's masterpiece 'The Treachery of Images'. Is it or isn't it a spoon? Is it still a spoon if it says it isn't one? Is the inscription true, or not? Is it Art? Either way you can eat your pudding with it, so ultimately these questions are of purely intellectual interest. It's an ornately patterned nickel silver spoon measuring approximately 16cm long and I would guess it's Victorian.

This would make a fun little gift for a pudding-loving artiste or an art-loving foodie, or why not just treat yourself to a little bit of daftness to brighten your own day?

This listing is for ONE spoon. You will receive the spoon shown in the photographs. The lettering is coloured with a non-toxic, water-based acrylic ink. Wash carefully by hand. Please note that this spoon is a vintage metal alloy and hence won't polish up to a bright 'white' silver colour, it's always going to have a slightly brassy tinge to it.

I can do other wording to order so if there's another arty quote you'd like to see on a spoon, do please get in touch!
