Hello! I will be adding some new linoprints soon! Please note that because of the recent European GPSR regulations I only post to the mainland UK (not Northern Ireland - sorry)
I drew this back in December 2022. The weather was particularly cold as we were approaching the solstice and I was inspired to draw this beautiful stone circle, which I often visit with my dog.
Swinside stone circle, is also known as Sunkenkirk, as Cumbrian folklore holds that the Devil pulled down the stones of a church that was being built, and the result was this amazing stone circle!
A more believable story is that our ancestors built the circle during the late Neolithic or early Bronze Age period. There are currently 55 stones, but it is thought that there were originally 60 stones.
As this circle is somewhat off usual tourist routes of the Lake District it is usually very quiet. At the weekend you may see a couple of walkers, but otherwise you'll have it to yourself. The circle is in a farmers field, so you may find yourself sharing the circle with some lovely Herdwick sheep!

A6 postcard of my digital illustration of the sun rising on the winter solstice at Swinside stone circle in Cumbria.
The reverse of the postcard has a traditional postcard design, with space for a stamp, the address and plenty of space to write your message.
My postcards are professionally printed on 350 gsm, 100% recycled, FSC-registered card by a planet-friendly company based in northern England.
I try to post my orders within 24 hours (except weekends and Bank Holidays). Please note that orders are posted by 2nd Class Royal Mail.
