Full description

This is a hoop embroidery of the Spanish City in Whitley Bay.

It has been embroidered onto swatches from a curtain fabric book with rust, grey annd blue patterns. As I source textiles wherever I see them I’m not certain of exact fibre content. It has been mounted into a 21.5 cm diameter beechwood embroidery hoop so can be hung on the wall or free standing on a stand (not supplied)

It is a mixture of appliqué using offcuts of wool (upcycled from clothing) including Harris tweed, hand and free machine embroidery.

The foreground has been created using pieces of wool offcuts with lots of hand embroidery to represent the beautiful flower beds in front of the building.

It has been backed with a piece of cream wool felt.
