Full description

This is my tawny owl - unfortunately, my tawny owl had a little mishap during the first firing, he lost a claw but still stands perfectly. I have added this handsome fella into the Seconds Sunday promo.

Handmade with raku sculpture clay using the slab and pinch-pot method. His features have been attached with slip and defined with sculpting tools. It has been bisque fired and then gently sanded before applying a red iron-oxide wash. The iron-oxide has been applied with a brushed and then sponged off to give the appearance of feathers. Two coats of underglaze have been applied to his eyes, beak and claws, the eyes and beak have been enhance using a clear shiny glaze and has been stoneware fired.

Self-adhesive cork has been applied to the base to protect surfaces.

Size: 14cmH x 10cmW x 10cmD

All my ceramic creations have been individually handcrafted by me with love and care. No two pieces are the same as each one has its own unique characteristics.
