Welcome to Janiemade and my little corner of Folksy where you can buy my crocheted creations. If you're looking for skilfully handmade gifts and home decor I hope you'll find something you love. I enjoy crocheting with natural fibres, mainly cotton, and many of my home decor items use recycled braided cotton cord or recycled cotton T shirt yarn. All items are ready to post and I only charge postage on your first item. Your order will be sent by Royal Mail 2nd class post.

I love crocheting with chunky T-shirt yarn and its ideal for making coasters as it makes a thick protective fabric that's also washable. Look out for more colours and designs coming soon!

These crocheted coasters are made from a high quality super chunky T-shirt yarn in Anthracite Grey, which is 90% cotton, 10% other recycled fibres, produced in Portugal.
The T-shirt yarn gives great definition to the crochet stitches and makes a nice, thick coaster that will protect surfaces from hot drinks. Items made from T-shirt yarn are all one-offs, the yarn thickness is variable and because shades are created by blending recycled fabric, each colour batch also varies.
The coasters come in 4 different designs, varying in the edging stitch used: Plain, Wavy, Braided and Zigzag. Choose the design you want from the options when you order.
The coasters vary slightly in size due to the nature of T-shirt yarn and the design, measuring between 9.5cm - 10.5cm across, but all are at least 5mm thick. They will comfortably fit a large mug and could also be used under a vase or plant pot to protect a painted windowsill or glass table.
Care instructions: Coasters may be washed by hand at 30C, do not wash with other items. Reshape whilst damp. Do not bleach; Do not iron; Do not tumble dry.
