The skies in the Cambridgeshire Fens are big skies, with sunsets that glow and provide endless inspiration. My starting point for this brooch was a photograph of a beautiful sunset that turned the clouds over my village gold, apricot, pink and purple.

One of a kind, wearable art sunset brooch, made from wool with the wet felting technique, capturing the rich warmth of the setting sun, with its golden yellows, peachy oranges, pinks and purples.
I started with a photograph of a beautiful sunset and used watercolours to draw out the many shades of the sky in a sketch, then chose and blended wool tops and yarn to evoke the beauty and mood of that evening.
A handmade brooch is the perfect way to hold a scarf or shawl in place, and looks fabulous pinned to a denim jacket or a shirt.
Wearable art is a great gift for art lovers, makers and artists.
This one of a kind wool brooch measures approximately 18cm/3" at its widest point, and fastens with a brooch clasp at the back.
