Handmade felt brooch in oranges and greys illustrating a soft sunset above the sea. This fibre art piece is one of a kind and is made from wool tops and strands of fine wool yarn using the wet felting technique.

Like many of my pieces, this beautiful brooch began with one of the photos I take whenever something catches my eye or inspires me. First I use a watercolour sketch to capture the tones of the image, and then I turn to my baskets of wool tops, silks and yarn to create a unique piece of textile and fibre art that evokes the emotions of that original scene. This brooch represents the sunset over a Welsh beach in shades of peach, apricot, orange and grey, with a hint of warm pink.
