I love the effects Spalted beech gives in its varying patterns, also this particular design of bowl is one I like making as it lifts the bowl up and provides added interest.

Full description
This is made from a piece of spalted beech wood which has an intricate pattern in addition to its natural grain caused by a fungus. You never know the end result until finished, making each item unique in character. It stands approx. 75mm (3 inches) high and the bowl is approx. 110mm (4 1/2 inches) wide. It is finished with oil and wax and can be cleaned with a damp cloth and re polished with wood wax polish when required. Uses include, trinkets, sweets, nuts etc.
