Welcome to Hazleton Art- Botanical Cyanotype Photograms, handmade in Hampshire.

Cyanotype is a camera-less photographic technique, that produces a distinct ‘Prussian Blue’ colour print (Photogram) The process was discovered in 1842 by Sir John Herschel, as a means for reproducing drawings and diagrams (Blueprints). Botanist Anna Atkins in the late 19th century was the first to document seaweed and plants using this technique.

Bamboo, is in itself inspiring- It's said to be the fastest-growing plant on the planet: New shoots of some tropical species have been noted growing up to 4 feet per day in their shooting season! It's sustainable as mature bamboos produce new shoots and canes each year, which can be harvested individually without destroying the plant.
Environmental friendly, Bamboo plants are very effective at removing metals and other toxic substances from soils and water. Bamboo produces the most oxygen of all plants! and it consumes more carbon dioxide than any other plant! Soft enough to use in making clothes and strong enough for building housing and of course the pandas love it!
