Like Wales, West Cornwall also has a tradition of horse-skulled mast-beasts, that come out at special times of the year. Montol Festival, the Penzance midwinter festival, has a number of guise beasts who perform and dance around the streets and from pub to pub, this particular one being Kasek Nos (Cornish for Nighht Mare), constructed by Gemma Gary and Jane Cox.
Montol is the Cornish Midwinter Festival of Misrule, held on the 21st December and Kasek Nos is a Counterpart of Montol's other Oss, PenHood.
