These bowls are part of my One Hundred and Eight offering bowls project made during lockdown and I will be donating half of all sales to the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales.

The bowls were hand thrown on a momentum wheel with wild clay from the Preseli Mountains. The clay was dug and processed by students at Coleg Plas Dwbl, young adults with learning difficulties.

The bowls were then decorated with hakeme brush and white clay slip. The bowls were glazed with transparent glaze and wood fired.

Please note, each bowl is unique and the photographs in this listing are showing examples of some of the bowls.

Each bowl has got its number stamped inside the foot (1 - 108).

The offering bowls were inspired by traditional Korean punch'ong pottery and Japanese kohiki ware. The finished bowls were wood fired and then placed in the ancient Gors Fawr stone circle near Plas Dwbl where the clay was dug from the ground.

One Hundred and Eight offering bowls project (as the number of Mala prayer beads used in Buddhist, Hindu and Yogic traditions) explores the making process as a form of meditation in repetition of form.
