I love the flow factor process because the glass goes where it will in the confines of the kiln and I never quite know what will appear as a result. This design reminded me of forest walks, and sunlight cascading through the trees, so I've called it "Forest Sunlight". You may see something different. What's your vision?

Full description

I'm excited to show you my 'Flow Factor' range. This clock is made by stacking strips of different coloured glass 8 to 10 layers high and tack fusing them together in a kiln. When the layers of glass are fused (stuck) together and cooled, the bar is then cut into different shapes on a tile saw.

The chunks of glass shapes are then weighed and a calculation is made as to how big the size of glass will likely flow to when it is melted. A dam to contain the glass is constructed in a kiln in this size.

The glass chunks are returned to the kiln and placed inside the dam in a random pattern and fired to a very high temperature so that the glass will naturally flow into unique patterns so no two pieces of glass art using this method will ever turn out the same. The piece is then coldworked by hand, (finished by grinding off any rough or sharp edges and polishing the piece, finally installing the clock mechanism.

This beautiful clock is presented on a 15cm X 8cm x 3cm oak stand (included) and requires 1 x AA battery (supplied). The clock measures approx 22.5cm high (23.5 cm high when mounted in stand) and 24cm wide.
