Inspiration
As a wildlife artist I particularly like to take inspiration from everything I see around my rural Shropshire home. When we first moved here we once found the little bridleway leading to our cottage full of hedgehogs for some reason. We literally had to stop the car and move them one by one to the verge. Usually now I just see them wandering around the garden and surrounding fields at night. Its always a delight to see them and boy can they move fast when they need to! Of course they are sadly in decline. I hope my painting not only raises a smile but also acts as a gentle reminder that we all need to do everything we can to protect this delightful garden visitor.
The original was created using Daniel Smith watercolours, Aqua watercolour pens, Carandache pencils and ink (including a dash of silver)
