"Creating the Humpback Whales sculpture was about representing the strong bond between the mother whale and the calf, which exists for many years as the calf grows up. I’m fascinated by the animal world and the complex and powerful emotional connections that can be found there.
I feel that if people can be inspired to love and admire these beautiful creatures, they will protect them and their habitats better. I also love the incredibly graceful movement of these huge animals through water, as they glide through our oceans."

Tanya Russell is a member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors and her sculptures are hand cast by a British foundry. Her Foundry Bronze Whale and Calf statue will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and cleaning kit. This casting is a perfect recreation of the original bronze statue and bears the artists signature and its own unique edition number.
Your medium bronze whale sculpture will be packaged with care and include our premium, embossed Tanya Russell certificate box and cleaning kit. The perfect collectible for art and wildlife fans, the Whale and Calf figure will be shipped to you double wrapped for extra protection. We ensure that all our packaging is recycled or recyclable wherever possible and carbon-offset with tree planting.
How its made: Foundry Bronze refers to the poured molten metal that is cast solid or hollow, depending on size, at a bronze foundry (using the traditional lost wax process). It is more robust than Bronze Resin and will appreciate in value.
