This linocut is part of a set of 12 made during a parallel printmaking workshop with printmaker Deb Wing, she supplied the image and I used it as a basis for this variable edition. Handprinted linocuts are normally individually different anyway due to the variations of pressure or rolling of the ink onto the lino surface. However I added colours to the process going along, and sometimes didn't re-ink the plate at all using the remaining ink to put a much thinner layer down next time around. I was pleased with the results, and I'm intending to have another session at some point with a different subject.

This is one of a variable edition of twelve reduction linocuts of a view across Ostal Bay in Scotland. It was printed in three stages, this means that for each of the three layers, more of the lino block was carved away each time, rather than the multiblock method of using a block for each colour. I used Caligo Safewash inks, and Japanese Ho-Sho paper. The image size is approx. 14cm x 20cm and the paper is 19.5cm x 24.5cm. Each print is significantly different from the others, but the one in the main picture of this listing is the linocut that you will receive.
