i made my first steady rest for me only and found it worked amazingly well ,after looking online ,i found that not many places sold woodworking steady rests and the ones i did find were very expensive and overseas and most were not specific to your lathe,therefore not very stable.
i decided i could make a very sturdy,none marking tool that is easy to take on and off and adjust and most importantly,fits into your lathe bed gap so there is no movement but slides freely and then locks into place

i make fully handmade lathe steady rests that are made to fit your lathe,all you need to do is tell me the height from the lathe bed to the chuck centre ,the gap between the lathe bed width and the thickness of your lathe bed,and i will make it so it fits your lathe snuggly and securely to help you hold your work pieces without marking them and easy to put on and take off.i make a variety of sizes that will suit any lathe starting from £55 for an 8 " steady rest
