Full description
I have made a skirt, upcycled from a (pre washed) tablecloth making it totally unique a great for the environment.
The print, which looks like it has been screen printed on, is of Egyptian characters in different scenes, some on chariots in vibrant shades of green blues and reds. I believe the fabric is calico(no labels were attached).
To create this one of a kind piece I have looked at the original design which spanned outward towards each edge and thought about how to cut the panels so the figures all faced the correct way. I made the waist in to an elasticated 'paper bag' design and added a decorative belt cut from the centre panel of the tablecloth. I have added a photo of the work in progress.
