Full description
A drip painting of a scarlet macaw - a large red, yellow and blue parrot sat on a branch against a mottled dark green background. This is an old painting from my first few years of selling my art, painted around January 2007, which is why it's listed as a second.
The style of this painting is completely different to my current work, and used acrylic paint dripped straight from the bottle to create the parrot, making the image quite free and relaxed as it's a quick and imprecise way of applying paint. The drip lines are raised above the background, giving the painting texture.
The canvas is 40cm x 50cm (16" x 20") with thin 1.6cm edges and is side stapled. The edges of the canvas have all been painted with the green background colour, so the staples don't stand out too much, although they are still visible, The canvas has a wire attached to the back so it's ready to hang.
