The majority of my work involves using the malleability of the glass enamel to decorate the copper blanks I use. The results are wholly unpredictable. Sooner or later the enamel will cool to a point at which I can no longer manipulate it, leaving me with a pattern of swirls and textures determined by the material. The final result is a compromise between my aspirations and the impracticability of reworking the piece. Few pieces are lost entirely. There are many more possibilities lurking in the kiln.

Full description
I have scattered purple and bright blue enamel on a dark blue enamel background then drawn a steel tip through the red hot enamel to make the random pattern that decorates the brooch. In some lights the copper base of the oval shows through the enamel, adding golden brown tones to the brooch.
The oval measures 38mm by 30mm. I have soldered a 26mm brooch bar to the oval. The pin secures with a rotating catch.
Your brooch will be sent, boxed as shown, by Royal Mail first class, signed for.
