Full description

This truly stunning natural Ethiopian faceted 6x4mm pear shaped opal ring displays amazing opalescence. Vibrant flashes of rainbow pin fire or yellow, orange, red, blue and green run through this semi-precious gemstone. This opal looks particularly special when held in sunlight when its' true opal fire radiates from within and dances across its surface. This is a breathtaking and magical gem. It has been prong set into a 925 sterling silver (stamped) ring size L (uk) , 51.9 (Euro) or 6 (US).

The word opal comes from the Greek work Opallios which means to see a colour change, which is connected with the way it displays flashes of rainbow colours. Opal is the birthstone for October and is believed to be lucky if worn by a person born in this month. It is also said to give the wearer a sense of calmness.

General Tips For caring for your Opals

1. Clean them using warm soapy water and a soft brush.

2. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and chemical cleaners

3. Avoid wearing Opal Jewellery in areas that have a harsh environment. This includes gardening or doing the dishes etc.

4. Avoid spraying hair & body sprays onto the opal.
