I often refer to this ring as the 'Tamar Ring' because the inspiration for this ring came to me whilst walking the woodland beside the River Tamar.
I collected a small Cypress sprig from the forest floor and got to making molds from it as soon as I returned home.
I wear one of these rings myself, when I look at it I'm reminded of walking among the firs.

Full description
This incredibly unique ring was made by hand incorporating the use of silver clay with traditional silversmithing techniques.
A sprig of the Cypress Tree has been molded, and then cast in silver clay - a clay form of fine silver (.999) it can be shaped as a clay but becomes solid silver once fired.
The cast piece has then been mounted onto a wide ring shank, much in the same way in which as a stone would be set - The biggest difference being that the silver is soldered into place.
On the back of the 'setting' I've pierced a simple pattern of a fir tree, just for a little added intrigue.
The ring has been oxidised to allow the detail on the casting to really come to life. The ring has been polished back to a high shine.
Despite its size the smooth, wide band makes this ring comfortable to wear, and to aid with this the edges gently curve away from the finger to form the rings mount.
The rings dimensions:
- Size: UK O 1/2
- Diameter of cast setting: 20mm
- Height of setting: 7mm
- Ring shank band width: 6mm
On the inside of the ring shank you can see the hallmark of the London Assay Office. This mark contains information on where and when a piece was made, including my unique makers mark.
A commemorative mark for The Queen's Platinum Jubilee was commissioned for 2022. The Jubilee Mark was made ever more poignant after Her Majesty's death later the same year.
This ring has the Jubilee Mark.
Thank you for visiting.
