Full description
Blackbirds sing one of my favourite songs and I always enjoy seeing them about the garden. This cute little blackbird is created using pyrography, burning on wood, which I colour with inks and coloured pencils. A coat of linseed oil helps to preserve the piece. Each piece is unique being drawn directly on the wood.
The log slice is approximately 8cm in diameter and 1cm thickness.
Wood is a natural item so there will be imperfections in the grain and some bark loss is normal. Wood items are best situated away from extremes of temperature and humidity, pyrography can fade in direct sunlight.
I make every effort to photograph these as accurately as possible but colour can appear differently on different monitors and devices.
