The Lunar Collection is very much a mid-century modern decorative design, influenced by wallpapers and textiles of the 1950s and 1960s. I’ve used soft pastel shades with motifs of elliptical shapes and dots - the black background of the stoneware clay acts as a counterpoint to my chosen colour palette.

Full description
This original piece of ceramic art, which makes a great gift for the home, can be used as a lovely vase for flowers or grasses, or form an eye-catching focal point just on its own. The decoration is mid-century modern inspired, my own design in soft pastel shades and half-moon shapes – from my Lunar Collection. I’ve called this piece Logan, and used black stoneware clay to create an informal cylindrical shape, glazed on the interior with a russet brownish black shiny glaze. The outside shows off the natural matt black surface of the clay, and the half-moon shapes are in soft pastel pink, lemon and grey highlighted with a series of dots. There is a different smaller version of the design on the opposite side of the oval shape. Logan is 18 cms tall and approximately 9 cms diameter at the base. Underneath you’ll find my signature potter’s mark of a swallow in flight.
