It's now definitely Xmas Shopping time! Folksy is packed full of fabulous gift ideas and of course SPOONS are at the top of my suggestions list - they are long-lasting, planet-friendly, practical, postable and the perfect gift for just about anyone.
Personalised spoons are now off the menu until next year (I’ve been advised I need to take a break from hammering) but there are lots of readymade options to choose from whether you’re looking for something festive, funny, romantic, rude or just plain daft! Postage is always first class and always combined no matter how many spoons you buy.

We always use a knackered old spoon to warm the brandy to flame the Xmas Pud... so I thought other people might like a special dedicated spoon for doing the same!

If you like to set light to some brandy and serve your Christmas Pudding flaming in the traditional manner, how about this to warm the brandy over a candle beforehand? A hand stamped vintage silver plated spoon with the words 'BRANDY for the flaming PUD' in the bowl. Slightly rude, enough to make the littlies giggle but not offend grandma!
I've tested a prototype with actual flaming brandy over an actual candle and the black water-based acrylic ink with which I've coloured the lettering stays put just fine.
This listing is for ONE spoon. You will receive the spoon shown in the photographs. It's approximately 5 1/2" (17cm) long and will hold enough brandy to flame a four-person pudding. And yes, it's a knackered old thing... please read on...
Please note: your brandy spoon is a vintage or possibly even antique spoon from the 1920s so it has been around a bit and has character. (For 'character' read 'tarnish, pitting, plate loss, dents, scratches and suspicious-looking stains.') It's a survivor. If you were looking for a mirror-finished brand new spoon, this isn't one. Just so you know. It doesn't really matter, since you're planning to set fire to it anyway.
