One of my my favourite garden bird. Often find them eating the seeds off my flowers so then I have to leave the deadheads on so as not to deprive them.

Full description
This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique. It is entirely hand crafted, unique and very special.
This is a rather pretty Goldfinch.
I've positioned it on a streaky green twig which as well as making a more satisfying shape for the suncatcher also makes it a stronger structure.
I traced the shape from my very best British bird guide book to make it as realistic as possible. I've used iridised black glass on the top of the head and back for extra shimmer and the brown glass is streaky to replicate a feathery effect.
It hangs from a little silvery chain and is 10 cm high and 14 cm wide.
This item is absolutely unique. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass.
