Bright and cheerful fused glass sunflower mobile/wall hanging, created in my garden studio. Eighteen petals were hand-cut from yellow and marigold opaque art glass. The centre was made from a disc of black glass sprinkled with finely crushed glass in mixed colours to represent seeds. The whole piece was then fused together at 745°C, a temperature which fuses the separate pieces together, but retains texture in the layers of petals.
It is completely individual - no two pieces will ever be the same as I will use slightly different shades of glass or vary the petal size and shape, just as real flowers are always unique.
The sunflower measures approximately 10cm across and would make a lovely keepsake gift. The photos show it displayed both indoors and outdoors against a variety of backgrounds and please bear in mind that the colour may be rendered differently on different monitors. It is supplied with an amber organza ribbon for hanging.
Hang on a light coloured wall, or in front of a window for best effect.
