Full description

The Horned God or Herne the Hunter.

In traditional Wicca The Horned God has a dualistic aspect. Light and Dark, night and Day, Summer and Winter. His horns can symbolise this duality. He is also an aspect of both the Oak King and Holly King.

Cernunnos is generally believed to be the Celtic representation of The Horned God with his roles seen as being the God of fertility, animals or travel and commerce.

Herne the Hunter is possibly a representation of the wild huntsmen of European folklore possibly linked go Cernunnos. Seen in folkloric tales surrounding Windsor, Berkshire and other parts of the UK.

Either way the horned demon or half man half deer has become a traditional part of English folklore. Depicted as a god of hunters and animals, nature and winter.

This totem is handmade. Sculpted using polymer and epoxy clay. Extra detail is carved into its surface.

For desk display.

Herne is painted using acrylics, depicting a totem carved from a piece of wood or stone. To protect its finish it has been given multiple coats of matte varnish.
