Wrong Side of Sol presents the art of crochet - beautiful crochet with vibrant colour combinations and eye-catching design. All my artworks are unique.
I absolutely loved making this piece! It totally encapsulates what Wrong Side of Sol is all about - the play with colour and line to create a beautiful object.
This piece represents many hours of work with the super tight stitch, and the immaculate attention to detail in the shaping. I wanted the lines to be as true and clean as possible in order to present the colour interactions to their best.

Wrong Side of Sol presents this eye-catching, vibrant crochet artwork.
There is tension between the colour clashes, yet harmony can be found in the finished composition. This item brings joy through its vibrant colours and beautiful design. I also like the idea of making the functional purely aesthetic through the super tight stitch which makes the material rigid, opposed to the softness you'd usually expect from yarn.
Comprising of 6 separate squares, this beautiful piece plays with the colour theme of red, blue, and green, which attract and repel each other depending on their position. The work is bought together in harmony with the white and black crochet edging.
Created using double crochet stitch, 3.5mm hook and acrylic yarn. Crochet design mounted on 5mm foam board for depth, hand sewn onto ice white backing card.
Presented in a standard white box frame with glass (removed for photo purposes).
Crochet measures 14cmx20cm.
Frame measures 34cmx34cm, approx 5cms deep with hook for wall hanging.
