Penny is a ceramic artist and student of the world renowned Falmouth College of Arts in Cornwall, United Kingdom. Penny grew up in a remote Cornish coastal village, on her "commute" to study, she would board a Ferry and cross one of the deepest estuaries in the world. The dark rolling waters and jagged Cornish coast providing a strong source of inspiration for her work. Many of Penny's pieces recreate the sea and Cornish communities; fishing boats, harbours, granite stone manors, cottages precariously perched on the cliff tops. Each work is a view into her formative years as a young artist in Cornwall.
Penny started creating ceramic art in the 1990's. Recently founding Penny Pottery in 2020. Her work can be found in galleries in Surrey & Cornwall and, of course, right here.
In a world dominated by mass produced items, it is refreshing and exciting to own a piece of hand crafted art, knowing that it has been created by an artist to be uniquely yours.
