Full description

Fused glass dish in an openwork design, using clear glass, teamed with a bright cobalt blue. Constructed from a series of 3cm squares laid out in an interlocking grid pattern, edged with strips of blue, and kiln-fired to a high temperature which causes the open spaces between the grid of glass squares to turn into perfect circles.

Once the flat blank had cooled it was fired for a second time over a ceramic mould to give the pleasing upturned edges. Approx 14cm square, with a maximum depth of 3.5cm. Suitable for all manner of small articles, or just for decoration, the dish looks particularly pretty on a sunny windowsill where the vivid blue can catch the light.
